White Pepper has a hotter taste than black pepper as its outer layer seen in black pepper is removed and therefore lacks certain compounds. White Pepper is commonly used when you don’t want black specks of pepper to be seen in light coloured foods such as mashed potatoes and light coloured sauces but also for its peppery bite.
